Where's the sale at?

For $400 I would agree. When the predators came out 30 years ago they were $1100. Not sure why so much cheaper nowadays

Has anyone bought from the Maven site? Can I expect a big tax and duty bill.

I called Maven Friday to order direct from them. As soon as I told her I was from Canada she told me I would be far better off ordering from Amazon Canada. She said she would sell to me, even could tell me what the postage through USPS would be but because the C models are made in the Phillipines that duty and taxes were highly variable. Many Canadian customers were charged nothing, not even gst, others got very big duty Bills plus GST.
The glasses with exchange and postage were only slightly less than Amazon. Any duty on top and I would have been backwards on the deal. Amazon, with 115 off for trying or having prime was a better deal.

How do you like the Mavens and have you had a chance to compare them to anything else side by side. My Leicas are out having the focus fixed, courtesy of Bob at McBain cameras, truly a GREAT guy to deal with, so can't compare.

I use Bushnell 10x22 by 50mm for the last 30 years +
https://www.trekkinn.com/outdoor-mou...4ORQ&gclsrc=ds
when u want to take a closer look its easy
the warranty of Bushnell is awesome
the price is right
i live in the foothills so distance spotting sometimes
they have paid for them self's over and over
if i need to look closer then my Bushnell 12X36 spotting scope works
spent hours spotting everything Grizz/Moose/Elk/Deer/Wolves/Sheep etc
money well spent

I had the Vortex Diamondbacks 10x42 and Cabelas Intensity 12x50 side be side at Cabelas North the other day.
Went with the Cabelas, same price, aprx $100 off, so sub $300 on sale.
Also noticed that Vortex makes those Cabelas brand anyways.

Does the Cabelas version have the same lifetime, no fault warranty as the Vortex branded version. I ask because being made by Vortex you know you will need to use that warranty. If they don't I would take them back and swap as the 100 bucks would be a lot better spent getting the Vortex.

Not 100% sure because I haven’t bought one for a while

Not that long ago, I saw a few posts here saying people had problems and were refused help only a year after the purchase, being told that the warranty is 1 year or something like that. Could be wrong though. That was in regards to scopes, if I recall correctly.

Fishnguy is right. I googled Cabela's binocular guarantee. All kinds of threads came up saying they do not honour their lifetime guarantee. It means lifetime of the binocular, which is one year or when it breaks. They are also clear they do not repair, clean or fix optics. I would go back and swap for the Vortex while you are still in the 60 day return window.

Agree, I owned Monarch 5s and 7s. They were pretty good for the price but there are better now and when Nikon screwed over gun owners by eliminating the lifetime warranty on their scopes and refusing to fix them, even for a fee, I sold every Nikon product I had.

I've still got the binos and 2 monarch 3 scopes set up for long range stuff with custom turrets that I like. Since that happened I've went over to leupold and been happy, and the mavens as well.
