Default Mock Scrapes Messing With Their Minds…

Slowly bigger deer are showing up…two areas that only had rubs and a few mock scrapes got them fired up a bit, now they are staying in the area!

Well snuck back in today and what a freakin mess I had to find and modify new licking sticks as they were thrashed all to heck….
This fella was the guilty one I take it…perhaps marlin might have to put him on the meat pole!

I said the first buck in meets marlin…a little after sun rise grunted this fella in and the 44mag broke the silence.
All to be made into pepperoni. Got a few bigger deer running this area but gonna save them for my son when he comes down.

Mock scrapes work as this one was taken right on one of them.

Enjoy your season folks!

Just like to add that I was sitting on the ground and seen a few deer filter through the woods but very limited on shot opportunities until he stepped out and went right to the mock scrape.
Narrow gap but he was not moving so everything just fell into place.

Well done! I've heard of making your own scrapes to attract deer but I had no idea it could be that effective. Thanks for all of the trail cam pics.

Took the deboned meat in yesterday to all be made into pepperoni....gotta say been many years since I shot a young buck and I tell ya the meat was second to none....I know pepperoni is for the not so finer cuts but my theory is I will have the finest pepperoni ever.

Will keep on the mock scrapes and check the cams for the rest of this month just to see who is who in the woods....maybe a cranker will show up

Well out on the chicken trails and couldn’t help myself just had to check cams to. Beauty day out sunny with a slight east breeze.
This buck pictured is on the scrape I shot my little buck, now the little buck bleed a neck shot but it seems to not bother them, go figure eh!

I’ve finally been getting some decent activity at the mock scrapes! Things seem to be really picking up!

Couple dandy shooters all pushing 140 mark with one around 150 I’d say, hopefully my first sit can produce one in person!
