Default Ricks Wild Game processing

Anybody have any experience good or bad with this company near Okotoks?

Never used them but I looked just out of curiosity because I had never seen them come up on AO. The last two Google reviews are 1 star. Only has a total of 5 reviews, don't know how long he has been in business but that is a pretty low number. I would be posting the question on an Okotoks page of some sort.

if youre going to okotoks, take your meat to Rocky's Sausage Haus.

Ive never met another butcher that cared so much about his customers.

I can verify that you are correct in this statement. I was very impressed with the few times I've used him.

Out of curiosity I looked in this Ricks Wild Game processing. He appears to be in the exact same industrial complex as Rocky's Sausage Haus. and the Contact is for one, Rick Paolini.
I seem to have heard the name Paolinis, come up in the forum here. But thought he was in Calgary somewhere.??

El is correct. they are in the same complex. My buddy brought meat for Rocky to process into sausage and mistakenly found Ricks. The sausage he got back was excellent. Dont know bout the other aspects of processing. BEL

This.

BTW: Rick is (at least he was last year) using Rocky's place in Okotoks to process all his stuff.

Conclusion: just go to Rocky. The guy is a legend, and his product is unbeatable.

My cousin took his mule deer to Ricks last year and was very impressed with the end product. I tried his Jalapeno cheddar smokies and they were excellent.
We just dropped off an elk there about a week and a half ago so hoping to have another great review soon.
It is a beautiful facility. If you do some searching on Paolini's, you will find great reviews.
Not sure on why the name change, maybe a partner issue, no idea.
Good to have great options like Ricks and Rockys...

I brought my deer to Rick's last year. Fair price and good job of cut and wrap. This is Rick Paolini from the place that use to be just off of 58th ave in Calagary. I asked Rick about that store. He said it was closed down for 2 years (last fall) . He was going to start making sausage again starting this year I do believe. He had only just opened the Aldersyde store last fall and looked like all new equipment in there.

Rocky went out of business at some point over this winter/spring, and had to use Rick's place to finish his orders. I finally got my meat back last week (3rd week of April), and I picked it up at Rick's and paid him for it.

Rick gave me a tour, and I have to say that his place definitely seems to be on a level above Rocky's. When I unloaded my deer at Rocky's, he and I literally heaved it up on a pile of other carcasses on a table. Rick's place has an overhead rail and chainfall just inside one of the delivery doors, so you load your carcass onto a hook, weigh it, and roll it straight into a walk-in cooler.

I liked Rocky, but Rick's operation just seems more professional. I'll definitely try him out next season.

I ended up going to Rick's after seeing the mess at Rockys. It looked like a scene from a horror movie.
Ricks was extremely clean, and professional.
I am really pleased with the smokies and pepperoni sticks I got him to make, which I got back after only a couple of weeks.

I used Rick this last fall and will be going back. Great product and very clean place. Professional operation.
