Oilers are playing great offensive hockey. I’m not see the defence improving steady. Am I seeing it wrong. If so please explain why.

I feel good that they could and hopefully will continue to improve.

Well, we are only 5 games in and we already had good offensive skills. Offense got more depth added to it. The defence will take about 10 more games to gel with the different pairings.
Problem is the goaltending still suspect. As long as the offense can keep scoring 1 more than they need, we'll be OK. That's all I have

Yeah but Vegas is INCREDIBLEY beat up. Both Pacioretty and Mark Stone on LTIR
Stone had the most points last year at 61 Pacioretty was #2 with 51 points
Martinez has been day to day since the 19th he had 32 points last year
Alex Tuch is on LTIR 33 points last year

So if you are using Vegas as a measuring stick you could be in for a surprise.

Imagine how the oilers would be doing if McDavid and Draisitle were on IR and then Nugent Hopkins and Nurse were out of your lineup at the same time. That is essentially what the Vegas situation is like currently and when the Oilers played them.

While the Flames were beating up on the Rangers and New Jersey. There's a big test.

The Rangers are a good team this year, so is Washington.. I was not talking about the Flames I was pointimg out to the guys that said Vegas was a good measuring stick, it wasn't the team that everyone is expecting to make the playoffs. Not everyone is up to date on the injury report. Any team missing there top 2 offensive players have. A pretty big hole to fill, and will likely perform below expectations.

But Pool Party tied it, right?

McJesus and Drai will score 2 or 3 more, and Oilers will win by one.

But man, Pool Party. Every time I see him score, I am reminded of the old farm joke.

Why does a dog lick it's balls? Because it can.....

To say that Koskinen is weak is an understatement. His goaltending is horrendous. The Oilers have to find a goaltender at least as good as Smith or it’s all for naught. The weakest link right there.

I think we have that tender in Skinner. Sooner or later he's going to have to get in the game!

I’m beginning to wonder why they picked Skinner 5 years ago now. Only suited up once for the Oil. There has been numerous opportunities to put him in when our overpaid back up was sucking the hind tit. This Koskinen thing and not giving Skinner a legit shot is getting old…

Koskinen got the big contract just after we got Skinner. No other team will pay that for a back up tender. So we sit and wait. Koskinen's contract is up at the end of this season. They won't renew him. Smith is on the first of a 2 year deal. I expect Skinner to be the back up come spring and onward.
