Default Carbon Fiber Tripod

Just looking for a better option than the old, squeaky aluminum one that i'm currently using. I have a 65mm Swaro. What are you guys using and where's the best place to buy one? I just sit and glass so I don't need a tall one, it's too damn windy around here for that.

I tend to look for the ones that are rated for heavy weight. I find that they are more stable under the conditions that I put them thru.

I went with the Field Optics Research set. Light, holds weight, compact, has two poles that can be used as walking sticks.
model 6229.

Spend the money, get a good one. I love my Gitzo and would not hesitate to get another one. Prepare to spend 1500 bucks on a good Tripod, and mount. do some research but here is a starting point.

Another option is the mission critical design tripod. Nordic Marksman carries them. I bought one this spring to replace an aluminum vortex tripod I’ve have for many years. I haven’t hunted with it yet but so far I’ve been very impressed.

Default Vortex

I love my Vortex carbon fiber tripod. They've really upped their game lately on tripods, and adding carbon fiber was a huge plus. There are still some cons to carbon fiber tripod though. For a good list of pros and cons of both aluminum vs carbon fiber click here.
