No band or artist has ever captured Canada's history like the hip. Gord was an intellect who gave us all a new perspective on who we are. R.I.P.

RIP Gord,

Thank you for reminding ourselves what it was like to grow up in Canada with your music.

We will always relate fondly of a different time in this country of ours.

Thanks Brother, I will sip a Whiskey tonight and raise a glass to you bud !!!!!

Wow, that sums it up pretty good. To put it another way, if Gord didn't invent Canadiana he surely re-defined it.

When I hear a Hip song I cant help but remember driving down miles and miles of gravel road through bright yellow canola, pulling jackfish out of a mist shrouded river and dragging them home in the old Radio Flyer wagon, and Christmases spent in farm houses full of relatives and heated with wood stoves.... to me Gord captured the Canadian golden age minus the BS.

Agree, knowing the music will never go away makes it better.

I heard on K97 this morning a musician tweeted Canada is closed today, we lost one of our own or something like that. So true. Rip and thanks for the tunes Gord.

Rough week as we lost 2 great Canadian entertainers....
Love him or hate him but our PM delivered an emotional tearful tribute to Gord.

Default Terrible day

This really really really sucks. I love this band, and I am just so miserable about Gord passing away.
Bloody awful news.
