The numbers seem high south of GP, some big clutch too. I harvested 5 so far, not focusing on them.

Lots around my areas. The dry weather was definitely beneficial to them.

It has been better than the last few years in my observation. Hope to check it a little more thoroughly this weekend.

Saw 4 separate ruffies NW of Sundre last weekend. Couple were definitely this years bird...small.

Last few years have been awful -- hoping the cycle is on the upswing in those parts.

Pretty good numbers of ruffies and blues down here… east of Lethbridge I saw lots of buns…

Dry weather… lots o bugs… happy birds.

I’ve eaten 5 ruffies already.

A report I read stated Grouse are on a 10 year boom bust Cycle It stated peak years in the Rochester area was {At time of study} 1966-67

So with that in mind our last peak was 2016-17 ? Those were great years, we quit taking anything to eat during the day. My HP.22 pellet pistol kept us well fed Must admit I scavenged many fast food store S&P pkg's

2018-19 they were some but pretty sparse for Ruffies a few more Spruce. Looks to be year 4-5 of an upswing if my Math is correct.

I have noted a good population of grouse up north during my last two trips. I bow hunt them.

In addition, and with no intent to derail, the willow ptarmigan population seems pretty good too. Looking forward to hunting them again in the snow......but first I gotta spray paint my arrows pink......

Noticed an uptick in the numbers as well.

Not really focusing on them at the moment either. I've been carrying my bow exclusively to date, and if I'm after a deer or elk I'm kind of focused on that.

Saw my first blue grouse a few weeks ago, that was cool. Sounded like a helicopter taking off when he flushed!
