http://www.env.gov.bc.ca/bcparks/pla...kwa/kakwa.html

This link shows among other things the plans for hunting and trapping in the Kakwa park. The problemis you really need to see the MOU connecting the Kakwa and Willmore together for it to make sense.

RMM , got the info from Sue , she was very helpful.
I hope someone else on this site with better computer
skills can get the info she sent me and post it here.

Like you, I'm concerned by what I'm hearing.

I just recieved a phone call from Jim Allen, Alberta Fish and Wildlife Division in Edmonton. He emphatically ensures me that this issue is nothing but rumour. He tells me it stems from the placement of a provincial park just east of the Willmore that will indeed see hunting restrictions. He says that the Willmore has no current changes to hunting and none are in the works.

Maybe Sue and Bazel are feeling the heat over the trapping issues that were brought up a while back on another thread. Their lines tie up most of the Smokey valley in the Willmore.

Thanks for the info Chuck. That looks like the first bit of
good news regarding this issue. I'd still like to hear what
Ted Morton has to say. The other thing that I wonder about are the MOU that were signed with B.C. and how
their managment plans will effect us ? I'm sure all of this will come out over time.

I was there too and the word was that some of the Wilmore has indeed been lost to a new provincial park that was rammed through as an order in council during the leadership race. That was how I understood it any way.
Basil seemed more upset that George Kelly's elk area was swallowed up by the park.
