Maybe we should block all the roads in and out of the res's. We don't go on their land , they can't come on ours. Wonder how long their food, cigs and booze would last?
Sad time for Canada

The latest flip-flops between the supposed FN Royalty and the two layers of government paint an interesting picture.

First, the meetings are called off because the supposed FN Royalty refused to ask their supporters to stand down:

https://www.ctvnews.ca/politics/talk...ents-1.4828611

But the take away from that article appears to be a tad more sinister:

The Mohawk Council of Khanawake, however, has warned against this kind of police action. In a press release sent out shortly after the Ontario Provincial Police moved in against the Tyendinaga blockade on Monday, they cautioned that the use of police will not result in a peaceful outcome.

Then the talks are back on as the government caves in, and suggests it was "all due to a misunderstanding".
Let's be right clear, there is NO misunderstanding here whatsoever. Simply a lack of government intestinal fortitude.

And again, the take away...

Deer spoke out against a possible intervention by outside police, saying any efforts to forcibly remove the site would be seen as an "act of provocation and aggression that will exacerbate an already volatile situation."

Methinks we have well seen just which side is ready willing and able to use "provocation and aggression".
Past time to lock any up who ignore the Rule of Law.

A little lengthy but worth the watch. Blunder Boy and Team can't squirm or lie their way out fast enough.

And this time, it appears all parties smell blood!

Inside the Wetsuwet’en Power Struggle

The Unistoten are no ancient order. They are a plausibly deniable, direct action, astro-turf front group. The Unistoten Camp blockade, the main manifestation of opposition to Coastal GasLink, has been joined by the Gitdumden Camp. Many camp activists are non-aboriginal, professional protestors.

The few thousand people who might rightly claim Wetsuwet’en heritage are demonstrably, overwhelmingly supportive of Coastal Gaslink.

The Office of the Wetsuwet’en, upon whom media attention is focussed, is a quarter-century-old green quango sustained by governments and philanthropies.

O.W. “Hereditary Chiefs” represent only themselves and their ill-intentioned funders.

The amount of tax dollars and funds from outside exposed in this article are overwhelming.
Very worth the read & I can guarantee you won't see this in any of Justine's paid for mouthpiece articles!

I'd be surprised if there's such a small group anywhere else in the country that has received as much outside funding as these people. They're running a money factory. Forget aboriginal land rights, forget reconciliation, forget environmental stewardship, it's all about money. The "hereditary chiefs" will sell out once they get enough money.
CGL should have re-routed, regardless of cost. This whole thing has and will continue to cost a lot more nation wide than the project itself.

Always two sides...

I speak outside the Feast Hall now because some of our house chiefs have decided that only their voice matters and they are expressing it in the public. I call on all Witsuwit’en to talk to their elders, matriarchs, wing chiefs, and house chiefs to remind our house chiefs of their duties to uphold our Law, and for our house chiefs to listen. They must understand that they are chiefs so that they can carry our voice and do our bidding, they are not our dictators. They need to be reminded that they carry the name of someone who was remembered, and if they tarnish this memory, it will not be forgotten.
