yeah i use imr 4895 for the scoped m14/M1A with 150gr fmjs as well ....... 43 gr /308 win.... .8 " groups if i do my part....most of the time
when i bought my M1a couple years ago ...which is based off the garand and simplified / 20 round magazine- the guy selling it to me said dont go past 168s ......various websites / gun sites state its because it was designed for the 145-150 gr military rounds at the time ....will damage the op rod/guts etc etc , maybe not apparent at first ,but ........ thats the theory anyhow
yep copy that moosejuice ....early indications says it likes 150 gr , but exactly ill figure out what it likes ,have 150 fmj,168 amax and 168 fmj handloads ready for it
pretty funny ...the clip lands on your head softly when the last round is out (2/3 times anyhow so far), and with the final ping sound sounds similiar to when you smack steel with it ....but the steel is not reacting if you miss and your like WTF? haha
