Default Benelli R1 30.06

Just curious is anyone has a Benelli R1 in semi--30.06. Having a helluva time finding a load that will work. I'm not expecting it to be as accurate as a bolt--but should be able to hit 2" circles--150gr no good--165 next---5 min between shots enough to let barrel cool?

Bullet type, and COL are as important as bullet weight. And I don't see the point of waiting five minutes between shots with a semi auto. Regardless of the action, I shoot my group one shot after the other, as I would in the field if I need follow up shots, and then I let the barrel cool. As well, this helps to show potential issues with the rifle. The BAR that I had shot well under moa, so a semi auto can be accurate. If the accuracy seems really bad with several different loads, would look at the scope/mounts, or the fore end attachment with a two piece stock.

Make sure your forearm is in the same position on your front rest every shot . After you have tried everything else try BAR . No just kidding. But I have a luck with the old BAR. In fact I just shot a BAR 300 win mag 5 shots moa .

Well, after going through too much ammo, finally managed to get a 1.5" group at 100 yds with Federal bonded tip 165s. Liked the cheap core lokts almost as much.
