Default Leeches

Really easy to catch your own if you have access to a slough or dugout.

Take a clean paint can, put a rock and a piece of liver in it, close it up. Punch a bunch of small holes around the outside with a small nail. Tie a rope on the handle and toss in overnight.

Come morning, pull it up and peel the leeches off the side of the can.

Free & easy.

Try Canadian Tire. I'm sure there's plenty of places that have them, but CT has always had fresh bait stock in a fridge in the fishing section. That's in Red Deer but suspect they're the same in other places.

Cheers
