Default Elk still carring horns APR 14

There was 12 elk, 5 bulls with horns.

It was a nice winter for them so although unusual, this doesn't surprise me too much. A good indication of a health population......lots of calves this Spring.

I drive past a high fence operation on my commute to work and theres 3 or 4 bulls in there that haven't dropped their antlers yet either.

I've seen elk with headgear on later than this before. In other years I've seen elk in the same time window with velvet nubs sticking out a good ways. All seems normal.

Both the whitetail and mulie bucks around Edmonton in Strath County still carrying their headgear on April 15.
Looks like i will be hunting Morels and sheds at the same time this year.

That is the most annoying thing when someone harvests an elk or takes a picture of one someone always asks where they took it

Actually not unusual to see bulls( especially small ones) with headgear still on this time of year
