Default Marco Polo Mount for AO member

I just finished this mount for fellow AO member. It was a beauty sheep, glad he chose a life size to do this sheep justice

Good looking animal are there any tips when you harvest something like this on how to skin it properly? Perhaps video links

Always wonder why they never broom the horns off, like our sheep.

Well when you pay for large dollar hunts like this, you would hope your outfitter can take care of those types of things for you but its surprising that some dont take care of their clients. If you have a taxidermist and you are loyal to them with your work, I bet there would be no problem hanging around with them to learn the finer points of hide care like turning ears and lips and salting. I know for me if I had a client that was going on a hunt like this and was going to use me for mounting the animal, it would be a benefit to both of us for you to hang around and learn. I have a few clients that I have helped that way and when the hunt is done, they feel confident knowing they took care of it and knowing it will make it home no prob. So my main advice would be to hang around or learn one on one with the taxidermist your going to use, that would be your quickest and most beneficial learning curve
Thx everyone for the kind words

Great work on a great animal. I like the backdrop behind the mount too. Shows off the sheep nice.

Right now projects are getting back in 12 months. Some go a bit past that and some under depending on the time of year with deer or bear season, skinning will take priority during those times pushing some projects back
Thx
