Default Imr 7828

Just wondering who uses this powder in the weatherby magnum cases. I have a 257 that I'd like to load for using the 7828 and everything I've read about that powder is that it's designed for magnum cases not the weight of the bullets. I want to use it with 110gr swift scirocco II bullets. I know I won't know if the rifle and everything likes that powder until I try but just curious if that powder is better with heavier bullets versus lighter ones.

Thanks in advance.

Both case capacity and bullet weight determine the suitability of a powder for a given application.

I have used it in my 257 Weatherby with both the 110 gr Accubond and 100gr TTSX and have good results. With the TTSX I use 70.5 gr powder and the Accubonds I use 68.5 gr. Another good powder to try is RL22.

Not sure I've seen RL22 before but that's good to know. Sounds like I'll be on the right track with the 7828. Thanks for the help. Will let you know how it turns out

I use 7828 for my 308 norma mag-fantastic powder!,used to use 4831 and that kicked like a mule, but now with the 7828,the gun kicks about half!.Also a big fan with the R22 powder with my 7MM STW

That's weird I find the exact opposite in my 338 the 7828 kicks way worse then IMR 4831.
