Default After months of research I bought this car.....

Hey everyone hope you are all well. So I just bought a new to me used car that I not only thought i would even buy as it was not on my radar but never thought I would love so darn much.

It started about 14 months ago when I decided that I was tired of driving a truck around as my daily driver, that is all I have ever drove (1/2 tones). The trucks I've owned over the years were all pretty plain in fact my current gm crew 4×4 is my first vehicle with even power windows.

Knowing nothing about cars I only knew what cars I've either always liked or have grown on me,no more than 30g,low km and loaded with a great driving experience. Cars of interest were, mustang gt,camaro ss,bmw 4-7 series ,cadillac and looked at a couple jaguars.

Lots of muscle up there but unfortunately most failed miserable for all sorts of reasons the one car left standing was the mustang and i was happy with that, not perfect but a very fun car to drive.

So one night the wife gets a call from a co-worker asking if I found a car yet,she says no ,next thing I know she's taking me to go look at this car that i have no idea what it is , 2 blocks away she says he's got a 08 acura and right away I'm thinking "what the he'll do i want with a 12 year old acura " little did I know when we turned the corner and the car was sitting there in the driveway I knew I had to drive this thing, and the rest is history.

The car i was never supposed to buy is a mint 2008 acura tl type s keneric blue pearl 6mt,63 000 km,fully equipped for all my needs. Pretty rare car, drives and handles amazingly, the car has been fully wrapped head to toe in xpel, lowered on coil overs, throttle body and manifold spacers, cold air intake, full quad exhaust with a honda data ecu reflash. The car i swear has made me feel 10 years younger. Haha, the best part is it came in way under budget. CHECK OUT PICS WHAT YOU THINK.

The things ive learned over this little adventure is....
Trust no one, dealers over charge huge,do your homework on not only the vehicle you're interested in but ask yourself where was it built, and always have a mechanic look at it even if your buying used from a dealer. My wife works in the industry and i can tell ya it's a shaddy world. This car was my covid highlight. Cheers everyone

Can’t go wrong with Acura, that thing will drive for many many years to come with less maintenance than any of those other cars on your list! Remember to bring her up to red line to feel that ecotec, not sure the 3.5l is a ecotec, but if it is I’m sure it has plenty of pep for the punch!

Congrats, that looks like it would be plenty of fun! I've always driven trucks as well, also my wife drives a Toyota FJ. Someday I'd love to have a car in the garage.

Great looking unit. I'm pretty sure that most on this site would agree that that Acura is a better daily drive than a 1/2 ton.

Yup hard to find with low miles,I had a guy at the Riverbend gas station offer me 17g I didn't pay that much but I had to say no I don't think I could replace it with anything else that's this fun to drive with the reliability to boot. They sure are highly sought after .Good luck with your search

How is it comfort wise on Edm bumps/potholes?

My only issue is i wish Acura made that back seat a pass thru,
I asked a stereo shop how much to make it one & he said around $3G to fab.

I once bought a Mazda 3 sport hatchback. Had a very long commute to work, and didn't want to put miles on the truck. Was small, great on gas, sporty and I enjoyed it far more than I ever thought I would.

Never thought in a million years I would buy and drive something like this ..... but it was great.

Can't miss with an Acura.
I've got an MDX that is turning out to be one of the best vehicles I've owned (and that's quite a few...bought my first car in 1973).
My son found a 1990 Acura Integra RSi that had only 48000km on it (stored for the last 15 years).
It runs like new.

Comfort wise, very comfortable but yeah must avoid potholes it was an early concern of mine but really not that bad,and yeah the little 12 by 12 hole isn't much of a pass thru.

Default Acura

Had a long commute for a few years.

Did not want to wear out the truck and pay for the gas so I bought a used Acura EL.

Over 300000 on it now.

My commute is minimal now. And I can’t bring my self to sell it.

Gassed up yesterday. 717km $46 to fill.

Other than maintenance items it had been problem free. And still has the me of life left in it.

Would absolutely buy another. Very good cars.

Glad you found one to enjoy.

Same! I have a 2005 Acura MDX for a daily driver/winter beater. I drive the crap out of it and it keeps going with no complaints. Just clicked over 328,000 KM yesterday and that motor runs like a Swiss watch. Doesn’t even leak or burn a drop of oil! AWD works perfect in the winter. I also find it extremely comfortable and the heated leather and sunroof are nice touches!

Only problem is the rust is really getting the best of it lately. Been thinking of trying to find another used one but with low mileage and in premium shape.

Hope yours is of the same breed OP.

Well, first of all, congrats. Second, keep the money you saved nearby, sounds like you gonna need them to pay for tickets this car will attract
I've had a CL, liked it a lot, except doing the brakes. I swear they built then inside out!!!

Yes I lucked out. Got it just over a year ago (the MDX) was a 2008 with no rust and 130000km...so far other than a oil/filter and a brake job it has been completely trouble free.

Congrats man, what a sweet ride!
I have been driving Honda vehicles since 1996. Never looked back. Got my first Acura in 2007. I drive the MDX now and wife is driving RLX. We switch sometimes. Love driving these both. I think that Acura makes the most comfortable seats, period!
And if you need a good mechanic shop for Acura in Edmonton- Wilson’s AutoTech on a south side is great!

Yes on the Integra...no rust and the interior is prefect.
We got it in February and the boy has already had 5 offers from people wanting to buy it. They just walk up to him at gas stations and parking lots and make offers.

Iveson should be shot for the conditions the Edmonton roads are in. What an absolute joke. In England they drive on the left and in Edmonton we drive on what’s left. Sad.....

Nice ride though!!!

Driving an 01 Acura. Zippy little thing, and great on fuel. Almost like driving more then the truck. Almost.

Wow, BEAUTIFUL car! Enjoy the heck out of it.

Was reading some long term car reports and one of them recommend you steer clear of used Acura's. Not sure what they were smoking but Acuras have always been great cars. Reassures me those reports are largely opinion based and not as much facts in the equation.

Again, beautiful car!

PREACH!!

Try those roads on a motorbike. Amazing more riders don't go down for the slide on these roads, absolutely DISGUSTING!

That Calcium Chloride they wanna use in the winter again should finish what's left of them
