I wonder if vaccine proof/covid testing had a part to play in the low turnout numbers?

I think the -30 may of had a bigger impact. The earlier hunts seem to of had a much better turnout.

i was there for dec 16-17 only. It was freaking cold cold guys. I only saw one big white buck on the thursday. Friday morning saw everything. 25 + deer. Took a little white doe and one little 3x4 white tail buck. One guy that hunted around where i was got a nice buck on the thursday. I would say 160+ easy.

I personally didn't stay for the last day. I had a great time and already had 3 deer in the freezer from before. Total of 5 deer is tons of meat. First time out to the base for me. It was awesome cold but awesome.

Shedcrazy - Thanks for putting these hunt totals together - and posting them here, every year! It's much appreciated.

Yes thank you Shed for continuing to post updates. I was there for Primitive and really enjoyed it. Thanks to all the base staff for organizing and managing this unique hunt! I look forward to returning one day.

Big thanks for the hunt on the base this year. I was on during RF2 and was successful. The staff were pleasant and processed everyone quickly so briefings started on time. I'm hoping the doughnuts were treated as equally as well that I brought in on day 2 of my hunt lol...look forward to the next hunt.

Stay Safe.

Al

I hunted RF 3..

Saw a ton of deer, too many bull moose and some other cool wildlife and country.

Took a weird looking 2 point MD on Day 1

Spike MD on Day 2

Day 3 was a 4x4 MD that I nicknamed Frank the mutant..

When I got up to him, his face was swollen bad. Someone had tried a head shot and shot him half way between the eyes and nose...

Upon skinning him I found a muzzleloader round buried in his chest. 2 attempts on him and I finally got him. Was a great time with my 10 yr old son along as my hunting partner. He can't wait to be drawn himself in 8 years...lol

And here we have at least one hat trick. Congratulations Mikezilk. Sounds like a tough fighter 4x4 MD with a round in his chest. Did you see the same number of MD as WT or was there a ratio gap in your sightings?

I'll look forward to seeing it next year.

Incredible trophy. Nice to know there are some still running around on the base.
