Good luck getting the boat in with the water as low as it is.
Be careful, it is very muddy at the end of the launch and easy to get stuck big time.

I used to like going there with the kids and a tub of minnows. Catch well over 100 fish and the kids had a great time.
Probably won't be a walleye left by labour day.

I was at PCR today and I'm a little embarrassed to say I landed 0 and had 0 bites in 2.5 hours today. The wind was strong but geez, 0???
I was on the west side a couple hundred meters south of the highway and parking lot. Same place I've always set up when I go there. There was 3 groups of 2 people and between us all we had 1 nice like, maybe 6pbs.
Lots of open water around the bridge and west side.
Where's the boat launch?

Hasn't closed yet. Open until March 31 st every year. Falls into ES1 not into the Prairies region so later closure at least this year and the past. Just cannot keep the walleye yet.

Stopped on the way back from Calgary today. Ice free(except for a little bit right at the bridge), but that will be gone by tonight or tomorrow.
Might go just to film the gong show. lol
Water low, not sure how much concrete ramp is in the water but could get muddy.
Probably remind me of the Kin Coulee trout pond after they stocked it when I was a kid. Almost shoulder to shoulder combat fishing. Float, heavy line on the rod, no reeling in, it was flying trout everywhere. Well for about a week anyway.
Expect this to last a little longer.

Everyone says that they are there to watch the show. I admit it will be quite entertaining. But we are all fisherman and fisherwoman...we can only watch for so long before we drop our lines and become a part of the show. Game on!!!

Pcr
I'd love to pack the yak on the truck and head out Sunday.
Would anyone with a kayak want to get a little crew together for Sunday? I can fit another yak on my truck if all you need is a lift .

I was talking to a couple guys that fished it a couple hours for each of the last 4 days, not a bite. I tried for a an hour today, not a bite. North end, where the water runs in, is land now, lake is down 20'. I walked the shore from the bridge to the north, thinking the fish might be in the shallows. 1st time I have left that lake with bait leftover, but I have never fished it after first ice out. Didn't notice a single dead fish, so I don't think it winter killed. Guys in kayaks might find them stacked up somewhere, but I wouldn't try to launch a bigger boat in there.

Starting to spawn, do not think the bite will as they say be on for a while.
As to the boat launch, good luck you will have your trailer wheels in the mud and it is soft before you get it to float, Had an awful time last fall and the lake looks lower this spring.
