Default Lake Maps for Hummingbird

I just bought a boat yesterday and now have a Hummingbird Helix 5. I know nothing about these new GPS/Sonar units. I would like to purchase maps for the unit and wonder where is the best place to get the maps? I was on the Hummingbird site and another site (HotMaps) that sell lake maps. My problem is that i have read bad reviews about the accuracy of these Canadian maps.
I am most interested in buying maps around Rainy Lake, LOTW, and Northeastern Ontario.
Who does everyone recommend ?

I would look for Lakemaster maps for those lakes. I believe they are available and have good ratings.

Your Helix also has Autochart, so you can buy an Autochart Zerolines card and make your own maps if you don’t find existing ones that you like.

I have the Navionics Platimun maps - which esentially gives you contours and general depths for most lakes in Western Canada. I purchased this like 7 years ago and at that time, the Lake master did not have a fraction of the lakes pre-mapped on there but maybe they have updated and added more now - maybe Sam or someone can comment.

Either way, I'd google it and see which one has more lakes, maps and features you want - those are the two options I know of.

Thanks for the replies. I’ve googled it and I’m going to post aloe on the Walleye central board and go from there.
All the lakes I’m looking for are on the Hummingbird site but I’ve read the accuracy is pretty bad. I’ll look some more

If you fish the same lakes you can take the time and make your own maps. I use Reefmaster. It is fairly straight forward to do, tho the maps look better on Lowrance than they do on humming bird.

Default Navionics

I have navionics on my Helix 7. Pretty good. I got it for all North America. If you go to their Website they have a list of water bodies currently included so you can see if they have the lakes you are interested in. After you buy you can get updates for a year before you have to pay another small subscription fee.
