Coyote prices for this winter
Can I get some guesses on the dog prices for this winter.
I’d like at least $40 a dog.

I have heard 5-10 each. They are still sitting on a pile of inventory that never sold this winter.

Pelt prices are like oil prices, pick a number. If the FHA auction does not go in August with open border coyote prices will obviously be in lower range.

exactly. Don't plan on $40 just yet for this upcoming winter.

Canada Goose
In addition to already high inventory levels, Canada Goose has announced they are not buying any more fur- all with be “reclaimed”. That won’t help.

May get 40 a dog put up. Personally I’d love to see it drops off to 10-15 dollar dogs put up. that will weed out all the wannabe trappers and the fur thieves that like to check other peoples snares/traps.

Are you kidding? How can all the illegimate trappers make any money on coyotes at a $15 average?

Might not be much of a market this year. If the prices are low and trappers aren't interested in working for minus 10.00 per coyote the over infested counties will probably have to put a bounty of coyotes. A county bounty of 20 to 30 bucks per carcass is cheaper than animal/pest control prices. Or the government fur management team will have to hire trappers to manage the coyote populations as a culling program.

Well, since you are posting in the Hunting section and not the Trapping section I’m going to guess that you’re selling whole shot dawgs to buyers. If so, i’d Say that $40 is generous. As a fur buyer, $30 for a nice Yote that’s not blown to pieces probably won’t be out of the question. The FHA auction results in August will be the best indicator.

Just curious Grey Wolf but what makes Dave an expert, why would his “guess” be any better than anyone else’s.

Just kidding around, Daves a good friend, he does lot of research though to keep up on fur market. Marty probably lot closer to the market.
