I was at Newell last weekend and there was lots of snow. Like a foot in some places. Ice was thick about 18 inches but we did not drive on because of the snow. If you do plan on driving bring shovels and a good 4X4.

Expect alot of drift around the edges of all those lakes. Gotta get western if you want on any lakes in this south country, unless its a high traffic access. BELEIVE ME,,,, I am putting a tranny in my superduty as we speak.... Unreal, transfer case and everything else seemingly made it,,, I think. Wooops.... I think you will only find afew of the traditional accesses on Newell actually accesible and drivable right now. Cowoki and the B have went nearly untouched this hardwater, abit of drive on, but not much, and some walk on. If you have snow machines you will be laughing. As an added bonus, you wouldnt have to worry about being stuck and digging, and youd get to almost completely avoid the old " disapearing truck trick " while merely looking for a day of fun.

Default Fishing on Newell

Lots of snow on the lake, but how has the fishing been on Newell lately?Looking at going on Sunday. Is Rainer accessable via a short walk?

Default lake Newell

Fishing on lake Newell has been slow this year so far as compared to last year. I am fishing in a little shallower water so that might be the difference.
