Except schools... as they fall under provincial legislation my wife told me.

Seems stupid to not make it mandatory in places with hundreds of kids that all pick their noses...

That is odd... but like you say, if they fall under provincial legislation that’s up to Mr Kenny I guess...

In Edmonton it’s all spaces the public has unfettered access to.

From the article:

"Masks would not be necessary in Edmonton schools or childcare facilities, hospitals and health care centres, or work spaces where staff are separated from patrons."

Until recently many believed that children didn't really catch/spread the virus. Now that it's been shown that they can actually having higher viral loads I bet they will be looking at their mask exemption in a little different light.

Well, there has been a great deal of research done in the last few months on mask wearing as it relates to Covid-19. The studies are easily accessible on-line so that people can read them and make up their own minds without even paying attention to the epidemiologists who say we should all be wearing masks indoors in public places.

However, it seems to me that this is a tempest in a teapot. All people are being asked to do is to wear a simple mask, and only indoors in public places. This is very far from the most difficult thing most of us have ever done for the common good.

I could understand the general upset if we were being asked to do something dangerous, painful, or even expensive. Wearing a simple mask is none of these things.

Ill be picking up one of those cards after work since wearing a mask gives me a serious headache due to a previous injury. I know I don't need a card but it might make things easier when I need to go to the store.
On a side note, less than half the people on the LRT today were wearing masks, of those I would say another half were wearing them incorrectly, like they had their noes hanging out or they had them around their neck. I hope there is this much non compliance when the feds try to take our guns away.

Strongly opposed to this. It's an absolute overreach of authority by a Province let alone a Muni which will certainly create an enforcement quagmire which will erupt in confrontation and conflict of varying severity. All for dubious gain or benefit in the big picture unless your goal is to divide and pit people against each other.

I wish we could set fear aside and come to terms with the reality that this thing was always gonna buck. We slowed it down initially to prepare, but now it feels like we're just drawing out the inevitable pain to come this fall and winter.

Wife has been making these masks for a month, sells them at the bar she works at. She has sold just over 300 of them in the last few weeks. $10 each, the extra income is nice!!

Looky that. Article states the virus enters thru the nose, mouth, and eyes.
And those pushing for masks aren't pushing for goggles? Hmmm
If donning goggles saves just one life......everyone should be doing it.
What say you advocates of masks?

Remember the ones advocating for masks are doing it to protect others not themselves. They will take on the disease so you don't. Unfortunately when most of them touch there masks repeatedly then touch everything else in sight it really defeats the purpose. Saw lots of that last night in Costco.

Social distance and wash your hands will do more.
