Very cool. I have seen lots of sheep, goats, and wolves at Minawanka, but never a cougar. That's awesome.

Those are some spectacular pictures! My family (including small tots) have hiked around Miniwaka a number of times. Better keep them close!!

I've seen a few cougars at work too, but they are of the human kind.

I've spent a lot of time up at Mini. Diving in summer and winter, hiking, backcoutry camping. I've seen lots of sheep, but wow, that would be so special to see that cougar in action.

Thanks for sharing those photos!

This happened around the end of July, I was in Banff a couple weeks after and asked one of the guide's for Warner if it acutally happened and he confirmed that it did. Once in a lifetime pictures.

The photos were taken by a girl that worked for Lake Minnewanka Boat Tours. She and some friends borrowed a rental 16 footer to go fishing one evening, and they noticed some rams near shore. They motored in closer, cut the motor, and spotted the cougar. She clicked away with her digital camera and got those great photos. The right place, the right time, the right equipment!
They also called the boat dock just as the 6 p.m. 'wildlife cruise' was leaving, so it motored over as well. A boatload of tourists got some 'national geographic' shots too!
