Default Favorite hunting knife?

What is your favorite knife to use to field dress or carry in the field? I'll like my 1980's schrade sharp finger. I recently also got a Carothers performance knife edc that is in 3v that will be nice.

Let's see yours.

Here's my quiver - different knives for different tasks. The filleting knife is one of the most versatile overall.

I have a Havelon that I am very happy with. Great for skinning. Went through 2 moose before it showed signs of getting dull. Quick easy change blades are nice too.

My latest purchase was a set of Cutco's. One serated and one straight blade. The serated one is great for skinning. Has a gut hook on it. The straight one is great for precision work with its pointed tip. First time I used them I had 3-4 slices in my hand. Didn't even notice them till I washed up. Very sharp.

My go to although has to be the Winchester knife I was given to me on my 14th birthday when I first started hunting. It has cut through more then it was ever intended too. Always on my belt when out in the field. I would feel lost without it hanging there. Has a special meaning to me so it will always be on my hip. Looking forward to passing it down one day.

DR

Outdoor edge flip-n-zip (8Cr13MoV)

Buck ergohunter pro (s30v)

Have many others but those are my favorites. Love em both. might add a cabelas Alaskan guide crosslock this year, sometimes that saw comes in handy.

I've got a couple but the little green micarta scaled number is my favorite. I only got it a year ago and wasn't sure if the design was going to be exactly what I wanted so I held off on having it made with mammoth ivory. Now I might have to have another one made with ivory as it's as close to perfection as I've used. I've since sold the skinner that's second from the bottom in the first picture.

OP

You talking Nathan Carothers the mad machinist? I had one of his knives for pig hunting down under. He makes a very good blade. I can't speak for anything he makes that I would want to use for field dressing or skinning but his fighting knife is a sick blade that works extremely well for taking the squeal out of a big boar.

Sure is - great inexpensive knife that's good for fish, birds and fine work on big critters too.
