Default Hornady Leverevolution 45-70 bullets

Just bought a box to try in my Marlin 1895 and they would not chamber without a lot of force to lock in the lever. Did not try and shoot any because something does not seem right. Grabbed some remington shells and they chambered as normal. Are these bullets for all lever actions or am I missing something?
Thanks

I've put around half a box of them through my marlin 1895 and have had no trouble so far, they feel alot hotter than the federal 300gr and remington 405gr factory loads.
You'll need to handload for the 45-70 to get the most out of it anyway, I only buy factory stuff for the brass and won't be buying any more hornady leverevolution because the brass is a little shorter than standard so it can only be reloaded with FTX bullets.
For factory loads though the hornady seems best so far for someone not planning to reload or someone wanting to reload with only FTX bullets.

Good luck.

I had a stainless Guide Gun and the Leverevolution not only fed just fine, but they were also the most accurate out of my gun. Would easily shoot into an inch at a 100 yds, so for a lever 45-70 that was pretty darn good as far as I was concerned. 1 1/2" with the iron sites, but tightened up to an inch once i put a 2.5x Weaver on it.

Not sure what could be causing your issues. They should feed okay.
