This is funny, my dad told me earlier this week he heard there was some ice shack rental outfit somewhere, that was providing this type of service. I wonder if his story was a twist on this article?

Now I know why some of you get excited at any possibility of an extended ice fishing season

Well it is hilarious but there just may be merrit to this based on my past experiences in the mid-80's when I used to do the winter creel survey on Lake Nip****ing for the MNR. On a few occasions I knocked on outfitters shack doors to do my surveys and when the occupants said "come in" I got to witness a couple of the working girls from the local strip club (which btw I moonlighted at nights as a dj) doing their part to keep visiting fisherman from getting bored when the bite was slow!
On one occasion I knocked on a door and announced MNR creel census. A fellow called out "come on in". I opened the door to see 5 guys sitting on the benches with their coveralls down around their ankles and a local gal that used to hang around the bar on a regular basis naked on her knees in the shack . Can you imagine? She had no issue with kneeling on a floor wet and covered with a winters worth of shiner, perch and walleye scales?!
I just about died laughing when she turned to see who was at the door and recognized me from DJ'ing at the bar and said "hey it's you! Come on in and join the fun!"

There used to be alot of American anglers visit Nip for ice fishing from Michigan, Ohio and Kentucky so who knows maybe the Mayor of Hudson Ohio was one of them back then?!

So, it’s not just “hard water” season.

Agreed. He has since resigned as Mayor. The townsfolk went after him hard as well they should have.
