We’re wanting to expand our spread of decoys and the Top Down Decoys appear to be an inexpensive way to so. Anyone ever use these? Do they work to draw birds? Look realistic? Last? Pros and cons? Am I better to save my money for Sillosocks or silhouettes? Hubby has a birthday coming up and I’d like to get him some more snow goose decoys.
Is this to add to snow spread or dark geese. Personally not a fan of Top Down and their are better alternatives based on what spread your trying to build
We’ve got a fairly decent dark goose spread and can always use more. We’re just starting to build our snow goose spread. So far we have 5 dozen sillosocks and a half dozen full bodies.
Add more sillosocks. Adds motion vs silhouettes. Consider other ways to add motion, flappers, clones, rotary machine for no wind days, flags for flagging with extension poles, good e caller for snows with right tracks to play for a few ideas. Lots to keep you busy
They say silhouettes work because the glare is vertical. And the birds can’t see it like we can. The top down decoys would be the opposite would they not? Agree with Pixelshooter that the money is better spend on socks or full bodies.
