Default Any reloading 300 SAUM/ WSM?

I have a .300 SAUM and I’m in the middle of load developing, I have data showing promise for 180 gr nosler partitions. My question is there anyone on here that reloads 180 accubonds for there short magnums? How do you like the rounds performance? Do you seat them long or to the length of your box mag?

I think next time I’m in the city I’ll try to grab a box. I reload accubonds for my 7mm-08 and they work good for that.

I used accubonds with my 338 rum and it hammered everything
Might use them on my next bear hunt

Thanks for the reply, how far were your average shots on game? Didn’t think the accubond long range wouldn’t have been better? I’m sticking with accubonds because I don’t plan on taking game outside of 500... truthfully 350-400 but this rifle set up now is very capable of that.

I’m loading accubonds in my 06 as well. I bought 2 boxes of 180’s for my 300 today. Since I’m out of partitions I’ll pick up where I left off with the accubonds.

I shot quite a few animals and they never ever moved
Muzzle velocity was 3025 with 250gr accubonds

I have a 300 SAUM that I had a hard time working up a load for. I ended up with 2 after trying a number of combinations. 165 accubond and 150 TTSX ended up shooting really well. The accubonds seem a bit too explosive, but have been pretty effective. The TTSX I put 2 through the shoulders of a big moose last year, and they did a great job.

Good to know, what twist is your barrel? Wouldn’t bother me loading lighter loads but I’m already reloading 150’s for my 06 and 165 for a 308. Have all the bases covered in 30 cal so I figured I’d stick to 180’s

I'm pretty sure it is 1 in 10 twist. Stainless model 7 with a bunch of lightweight goodies on it.

Used to use 180 accubonds for my 300wsm. Accurate and always performed well for me. Only loaded to mid 2800's.
Swapped for interbonds as IB's were almost half the price of the noslers.
Good luck with them as well...only very slightly less accurate as the accubonds.
Now I'm outta interbonds as they don't make them anymore so have some ELD-X's on order.

Oh okay. Nice rifle, mines a model 700 stainless and it’s set up for light weight too.

Nice, I thought about getting eld-x as well but maybe later. Never shot them before but hear amazing things about them. Kinda sticking with nosler for right now.

I load 180 accubonds out of my 300wsm, they have killed moose and elk with great performance from 300 yards to 60 yards. I haven't tried any of the newer enduron powders or reloader 17 since I can never seem to source them. A stiff charge IMR 4831 has worked great for me, 180gr accubond chronographed at 2940 fps.

loading for a 300wsm right now and 190gr ablr's and hybrid 100v is showing good potential.

bolt lift is fine no issues at all, mine is a model seven Remington,
I actually used JB weld to bed the action and free float the barrel
haha it worked great for me haven't had no issues with that at all
I loaded it up 66.8 grns it had backed out the primers and flattened them so I backed it off to 66.5 no pressure sign , but the recoil is quite sharp ,
its accurate right where its at
clover leaf's a 5 shot group 1 inch high at 100 yards
I could live with that soo I left it just like that, but after this shoulder surgery I just might have to back off on the powder a few grains to lower the sharpness of the recoil, I don't like screwing with a good thing, if it works good I tend to leave it alone
man does it ever slam a moose or Elk though , deer it just flat out kills em dead last 4 years I haven't shot much rifle
I've made some extremely long shots on some real respectable WT bucks with it, 550 yard was the longest
I might have been one further , I didn't bother to check the range deer was dead in its tracks why check that stuff , I was just happy I got that big bugger buck
I take it out of gun case, opening day of deer season , go for a short walk about with it fire one shot , load up field dress the deer, go home clean the deer, hang it up,
then clean the gun put it back in the cabinet for another year , sorta like that is how its been for 4 or 5 years now
the reason I use RL 17 is
I read somewhere it was built and designed for these new short action magnums
so I thought I'd give it go
it worked well for my 300 SAUM so I never tried any other powder in it
guess I was just learning then to be cheap like the rest of the Saskatchewan farmers around here LMAO

so you load to an unsafe load, if that's the real speed. you guess at distances for long range hunting. great stuff.....

I load my 300 wsm with 180 grain bullets and 62.0 grains of RL17 and I feel that is max. 2950 fps on my chrono. I know there is some data out there showing 66 grains but at that I figure one is really living on the edge. I sure hope no one gets hurt.

My load with 150 TTSX showed just over 3500 on my chronny. Not sure if it's correct, but my load with 165's showed 3250ish. I figured it was wrong, but when I checked some other guns it seemed right for those cartridges. I will double check it once it warms up. No pressure signs at all, but like said above it hits super hard.

Thanks guys for the info, some screaming rounds some of you shoot. Packing a punch for sure. I haven’t done my next batch of load developing yet, when I find the lucky round I’ll run a few through the magneto speed.
