Try Cx Shooters in Morinville. I'm not sure if he does but he might. He's closed today but opens at 11 tomorrow.

Hi Cat:

Your not going to get any shot in the Edmonton area.

The closest I have been able to obtain some is from Silver Willow Sporting Clays which is almost in Calgary,

I was going to order some from Will Bilozar and have him bring it up for the Hunting show in July.

I will go Cabalas at noon and check it out. I think they only have steel shot there right now. The same is with WSS.

Unless someone has some shot that I don't know about were SOL.

I didn't look real close so don't know what size it was but P and D had bags of shot when I was in there about a week and and half back, but I bet you already called them.

Finding shot to reload is becoming a real pain in the ass these days... BassPro is charging $80/25lbs of lead shot at the moment! You could always do a bulk order from Hummason if you like their shot. Although that won't help in the short term. I'd Greyhound some up to you Cat but I'm nearly out myself. Only about 5lbs left...

I'm thinking that shotmaker might just be the ticket... You'd probably need screens to sort the shot and access to tons of lead.

Anyone know offhand how much a Pallet of 71/2 would cost to Edmonton?

I believe lives lives in Edmonton.
As far as the Littleton shot maker goes, it is set up for a single shot size, and you change the nozzles to change that.

What kind of quality does it manage? At retail prices these days it won't take long to make your money back if it's decent shot.

And I talked to him on the phone, you can either buy extra drippers for different sized shot or the whole pan assembly (the more convenient option).

The little that I know about dropped shot and homemade shot makers is that it is hard to control the coolant sun lite dish soup works good from my understanding. It would be hard for a home user to have a 30 foot drop tower. The result is inconsistency in shot size and roundness getting the shot to have a consistent antinomy or hardness could be difficult as well. But for skeet, 16 yards or the average sporting clay target would not matter much.

You guys could look into getting a pallet of 12ga promotional shells I think there is 96 flats to a pallet so that’s 24000 shells. Had some friends do this a few years ago think they had it down to 50$ or 55$ for 250 shells savings could be substantial.

The price of lead has gone crazy. I am thinking of a shot maker myself.

Gopher, we had 2 1/2 skids ordered that got back- ordered, so we are out of luck in that department.
That's why I have started hand loading 12 gauge again.

It's not really any better here in Calgary truth told. Walking into any of the box stores you've got about a 80% chance that whatever you want to buy will be sold out and back ordered to 2016... Retail here just isn't reliable enough.

Anyone ever order from Henry?

He seems to get around in the SC circles.

CGN has some Littleton experts from the Saskatoon gun club on their trap, skeet, SC.. thread.

I think they use transmission oil to cool the freshly made Littleton shot instead of dish cleaning soap.

Must have to do with viscosity of the coolant in order to form the shot in a short drop.

I was waiting on that order as well. Luckily,I picked up 25 flats of Winchester target loads from Bashaw last weekend, so I am good for the rest of this year.
