Vehicle Decision Has Been Made:)
After having two successive lemon trucks, I put a lot of thought into what I needed for MY style of hunting (chasing birds for 10 weekends and deer/moose for one or two in farm country). After a thorough test drive with a Subaru - - I narrowed my list down to a Honda Ridgeline and a Toyota Tacoma Double Cab. Both would have been great choices, but 90%+ of my driving is on city roads and highways, thus I went for the more comfortable of the two options, rather than the more off-road capable option. Picking up my Ridgeline after work. 2017, 24,000kms, 3M Rockguard, and a 7 year extended warranty that the original owner bought. $36,300 all in. Not the right decision for everyone, but for me it was.
Thanks to all of you who gave input and sent PMs over the past few months.

Good Choice. I like the ridgeline and some of it's features. Like the underbox trunk.

So the first destination is the field that the Subaru failed in?

Hey, this is Alberta!
You're not supposed to buy a vehicle, you're supposed to steal one, swap it for meth when you're done with it, and then steal another one. Are you old fashioned or something?

I'm not Ridgeline fan, but I'd likely pick it everyday all day over the 2002 powered 2018 priced Tacoma. Hope it works out well for you.

Interesting choice.
If you need it, I have seen other ones with caps on the back.
Hopefully this one works for you.

hehehehe
You probably don't want to talk to my client that bought a new ridgeline a couple years ago (might even be a 2017). Every once in a while everyone puts out a lemon.
But either way thanks for keeping us entertained during the cabin fever season.

How is comparing Tacomas to me being a possible Ford owner related to the topic at all?

2018 US sales
Tacoma 245,659
Canyon/Colorado 168,334
Frontier 79,646
Ridgeline 30,595
Taco: 245,659 vs all others: 278,575
Sorry, my math was slightly off but less than 10% off, my point still fairly valid about them doing something right.

Good choice, you will be happy with it. Either would have been a good choice.
Give us a good update down the road!

We're talking about mid-size not full size trucks here. I know they're in the top spot in the full size market.

Ummmm.....Ford has been out of the mid size truck game since 2011 or so. The Ranger is back for 2019.

Glad to hear you found a vehicle to fit your needs. I hope it serves you well for many years.
Please post pictures of it going farther into the field than the Subaru did!

Nice choice, room for the kids, box for the gear. Seems like a good price too. Those Honda's keep their value high. Congrats.

Now you gotta go back to the field of snow with the Ridgeline. Let us know how that works out.

And this time get it on video. Just so you have something to show the Subaru salesman.
