Default Rifle question

Hi there, I have a question for the gun nuts out there, I have a rifle that is labelled as a swiss k31 30-30.
It is a straight pull bolt action with matching serial numbers on the bolt, chamber and action. I do not know much about the rifle and have been told everything from "it's worth 75.00" - it's an antique. Does anybody know much about these Rifles? Anything would be helpful

Swiss army rifle made between the 1930s to 1950s . Depending on condition worth up to $600 for a good one.

K31 is Swiss military rifle that was chambered in 7.5x55mm . This may have been a conversion done to 30-30. If it has been converted then it's value is gone. Not sure why it would be converted but some importers would rechamber to more common calibers to sell.

There are 1889 versions that were converted to 30-30. Still a straight pull rifle.
Post a picture.

Best to get it checked by someone who can verify what cartridge it's supposed to shoot.

The 30/30 is s common conversion fir the K31 for the North American market and it may not be worth much as s collector but it is still a desirable rifle because of its accuracy ,

Default most likely

It's an earlier model ....not a K31......they sleeved the chamber to accept the more available 30-30 rd and altered the mag as well. Though accurate the sleeves didn't always stay put..............Harold

K31s are quality, accurate rifles. Chambered in the 7.5x55 swiss cartridges in their military configuration they go for about $350. I haven't seen any in 30-30 personally but if they're any cheaper than 350 and they function as well as their military original counterpart then it's a steal!

I'm also going to guess it's an earlier gun than a k31. (The one that didn't take 7.5x55; it took something even rarer, hence the re-chamberings on this side of the atlantic.)
When you were told "It's worth $75" and "It's an antique", both statements are accurate. It's probably more than 100 years old, but I think the only people who want one are the people trying to own every swiss gun there is.
I own a sporterized one in the original chambering, making it almost completely useless. (It followed me home from a gunshow. I felt sorry for it.) I did manage to track down a whole three cartridges for it, though.

When you say it's labeled as a k31 in 30-30, is that on a post-it note, or did 30-30 get stamped into the steel?
