Beautiful cutthroat!

Once again, Talking Moose is wrong.... I've got to stop listening to him.

As a basic rule, the weight of trout from 24-34" can be estimated quite accurately
from just the length measurement.
24"= 4 lbs
25"= 5 lbs ....
34"= 14 lbs

Give and take a bit for skinny, fat or funky kyped and spawned out fish.

Hahhahaha told you guys it was a big fish! Yeah it is a little deceiving because of how low the spots go on her. Thanks everyone! The spot is pretty well known but if anyone really wants to know pm me and I'll give you a general idea!

What was the take like from that beast?

Was it as soft as a hummingbird landing on flower, or did that monster just ram the fly down its throat?

;-)

The water was clear enough that we could see them rise to our stimmies, but she just came up and sipped it gently and then kinda rolled into her side as I set the hook

I caught a 24" rainbow in Manitoba that was 11 lbs (weighed) It was a slob.... so yeah, you can give a "bit" of wiggle room on your above chart. Maybe + or - 5 lbs?

I caught a 25 inch rainbow that I am sure weighed more then my 30 inch rainbow last year. The pigs definitely weigh more.

The weights he gave are probably close for the average/slimmer trout. The 24 in cutty posted was probably 4-5 lbs by the looks of it.

Funny how native stream trout are sleek and torpedo shaped, where stocked or lake grown trout are fat and not so streamlined.
