Default Lower Kananaskis Lake - Closed Section

I understand one part of Lower Kananaskis Lake is closed all year. After reading the regulation I think the section that is close is the part that I have circled in red in the attached picture. Can someone let me know if I am right or wrong? If I am wrong can any you please let me know which section is closed to fishing?

Thanks,

Thank you! Out of curiosity, does anyone know why that part of the lake is closed?

Default other closures

You will also want to read the sign posted at the interlakes spillway. They have closed fishing in the area where the water enters the lower lake from the upper

Don't see anything like that in regulations..

Lower Kananaskis Lake (35-19-9-W5)
the portion north of a line drawn from the southernmost tip of the peninsula in NE 11-20-9-W5 due west to the point where the line intersects the shoreline of the lake (the northwest bay) – CLOSED
the remainder of the lake – Open all year – Trout (except Bull Trout) limit 1; Cutthroat and Rainbow over 50 cm; Bait Ban.

Default Sign on site

The sign they have posted there states the following from the regulations.
Fishing is
prohibited by any method within 23 metres downstream of the
lower entrance of any fishway, canal, obstacle or leap. Weirs and
dams are considered obstacles.

This must be realitivly new, we usually ice fish 50 ft from the open water, and have been checked many many times, this has never been brought to our attention. And we're trolling sept there, and tons of guys fishing from the banks.

On the new sign they posted it is 23 meters out from the dam where the water enters the lower lake, if you are in a boat or icefishing you won't be in the area shown on the sign they posted. It is the shore fisherman that will have to watch where the boundry is.

Cool that's why we've never seen it, usually on ice or in boat..
