I have bought ammo from WSS and Canadian Tire without having to show a PAL. At Canadian Tire, they did ask if I had one, but never made me actually show them that I did. I have also bought tons of ammo from a small local place and never even been asked. I was in the shooting edge on saturday with my wife, i said I was an associate member, they made my wife sign the waiver, and let us right in. I never once showed ID, a membership, or even told them my name. But I always make sure that I do have all of my paperwork in order before even attempting to do such things, so it would be no big deal if they wanted to check me.
