You really should check out his hunting books (big game and small game versions). Highly recommended!

I like watching his show because it seems to be as-it-happens (i.e. he shows his screw-ups).

He's the real deal. I'm a huge fan. I bought a couple of his books on Amazon and I'm sure I'll buy the rest eventually. He's an articulate writer and host that leaves you wanting more at the end of every episode. In this day and age, he is the best advocate of our sport. He is sponsored by quite a few companies, obviously vortex, first light, and savage and I see him using benchmade knives but he's not shoving the brand down your throat. I'm glad he doesn't go into details on his gear. There are enough other half hour long commercials out there. It's great to see him hunting lesser sought after game like the 2 episodes hunting sooty grouse and the sandhill cranes. I've had my fill of watching a "pro" sitting in a stand or blind over bait waiting for whitetails, bears and turkeys.

I really hope Netflix picks up the first 4 seasons so I can binge watch them too. The best way to do this is leave 5 star ratings and positive reviews on his show.

I received both of these books for Christmas from my wife. I'm reading the small game book first. They are very informative. I have read some of the information before in other books, or online, but still a great read.

I found there were too many glamour shots and drone footage. Near zero hunting. Great angles and camera work but it seems more an exercise in cinematography than a hunting video. Back to meateater podcasts...
