Default My First Grayling

Was out enjoying the day and dipped my fly in the water today.

Nice, my favorite game fish, so much fun on dries. You'll be hooked, I bet.

My early (long time ago) Grayling fish were from the Windfall and Marshhead creeks. Then there were few anglers and fishing great with a few big ones to boot. They by far are the most active when hooked. My bucket list has a NWT trip for targeting the large grayling- like 3 pounders. Hopefully soon. Gratz on the fish.

I still get the odd 14" from the windfall and always get whites and bows too, same mars head and pine is actually better than marsh just across the way, rare to see anybody fishing these cricks at all . then there's little smoke and Berland that's were the real action is at if you want to get serious about grayling I suggest explore those two rivers in particular! I'm out there all the time including this year already so this is pretty current info!

Thanks Dragless, nice to know they are still good places. My age and crappy knees prevent me from returning-lots of great memories. Post pix of your grayling next time. Good luck.
