I use some bag wax (sounds moderately obscene) which is quite slick and, more importantly, waterproof. It's actually a bit too slick at times. When shooting prone from a rest, I've come to believe I'm a little more consistent if I do not shoot "free". I'm usually shooting a 308 and it seems to do a little better if it's held; providing the hold is consistent, of course. Leeper

Thanks for the advice from everybody in this thread. I like the banter and hope you guys can get it straightened out at the range someday to compare shooting and whatever else you guys are comparing....

Aside from that, are you annealing your brass with one of the new machines? Or doing it with a hand torch and a tin of water?

I really like the Lee collet die and like to keep my brass necks soft when using em to see the full benefit. I use a torch and a tin of water and spinning the case in my fingers.
