Talley height???

So how do you know what height of Talleys you will need??

I have a Zeiss Conquest 3x9x40, I ordered the lows, but when I put them on, I find myself not getting proper scope alignment, I have to drop my cheek down a touch to get perfect alignment....and I mean just a touch. I get a slight darkness near the bottom of the scope when I shoulder the rifle. I have set my eye relief, so the height is the question. My last time I did this, the lows worked well, but different gun and stock.

Not sure if I can send them back as they were mail ordered, but not sure if the med will work any differently.

or is it something I just need to get used to??

I just saw your thread you started on scope height for the Zeiss with Talleys. I am going to order a Zeiss as well and thought I would go with Talleys as well.

I have a Winchester Model 70 and on that rifle I need higher bases for my eye to align properly with the scope. On any of my other rifles I've always went with low bases, so it may be the rifle has a straighter stock on it and you have to drop your head lower, at least that's what I experienced.

Have you solved this yet? What rifle was it going on?

Talley Ring Height Selection Guide:

Low Ring Ht for scopes up to 44 mm objective with standard barrel contour.

Medium Ring Ht for scopes up to 50 mm objective with standard barrel contour.

High Ring Ht for scopes with a 56 mm objective with standard barrel contour.

Ex-High Ring Ht for large objective scopes with heavy contour barrels and single shot rifles.
