Just wondering where people go for the best deal on 223 ammo for both coyote hunting as well as range shooting. Are there any good deals out there? Thanks!
IMHO...it is best not to use FMJ ammo for coyotes or gophers....chance of riccochet and skipping goes up greatly. Most bulk .223 ammo is FMJ but if you find some bulk lead tip or HP it could work well..

Just my opinion.

X2... not to mention FMJ is a poor killer of coyotes.
I bought American Eagle for my 223. They are a hollow points. $10 per box. Bought them at Wholesale sports. I have only broken in the barrel and shot a few groups at 50 yards inside. I was getting 5 shot groups that looked like 3 shot groups you could cover with a dime.
Good luck. I'm loving mine so far!!

Thanks for the reply I will definitely try those! Just got to get the su16 back from the shop. Getting the barrel threaded and a brake put on. Should be able to build a lead fence around the coyotes soon!
A few places carry 1000rds of Federal FMJ in an ammo can for around $400. But as others have said do us all a favour and stick with HP or SP for any shooting outside of a range.
