Default Range Closure

Just received this from CHAS-

Good day folks,

Hope everyone is holding up well and is not going stir crazy yet! With the changes to the maximum gathering sizes brought in today by the provincial government to stop the spread of COVID -19, the executive of CHAS has come to the conclusion that this applies to the range until conditions change across the province. This was not an easy decision but our hand was forced to go in this direction.

Officially, from this point forward, the CHAS range will be closed for shooting activities until further notice. We will keep everyone updated as things progress.

Thank for understanding and respecting this decision. Please spread the word amongst your circle of friends within the club to avoid anyone travelling out there for no reason.

You are not alone, saw a FB post from another outdoor Range advising of closure.

Sherwood Park range just posted the same closure notice. Guess we can load rounds to shoot later. Stay well my friends.

Do these ranges generally have more than 15 people at them on the weekend? And are you really in close proximity to each other?

This is rediculous imo.

It would be rare to have 15 people on any one of our ranges, and the 2m is easy to maintain but we are located on city property, so the city made the call to shut down. We had already closed our clubhouse, to reduce the chance of people being in close proximity. That being said, I was at another range yesterday, and some people were not maintaining the 2m distance from one another. I actually watched four adults get out of one vehicle, some people just aren't paying attention.

These are acts of social posturing, not distancing.

Which shotgun range are you talking about?

Do they have a website?

Do the post a contact phone number someplace?
