coyote mania
Guys, I know coyote prices are nice and high these days at NAFA. However just counted, of the 30 last posts 18 are coyote chatter. Lets talk about some of the other fur, how are your wolf numbers this winter? I know the elk, moose and caribou would appreciate the effort! How are your marten, fisher and lynx trapping going as well?

2 nice fisher so far. 10 marten.
Wolf baits aren’t all that active. Had some come through but it was during the warm and windy spell. Most of my snares were out of sorts.
Lynx just started to show up on our line. Finally. Time to set some cubbies.

Sorry about that BGW, but for many of us here in the SE area, coyotes is about all we have. So yes, come on you northern guys, what's happening in the bush.

My numbers are way down on everything due to loggers coming in. Lynx are pretty much non existent and the rabbit population is at an all time high. Have 4 wolf bait stations set up with only a couple that come through every 2 to 3 weeks. Hoping to catch them...have 50 marten/fisher boxes out and only have 5 marten and one fisher. Had to 2 traps stolen not a good year at all on the Registered line.

Other fur????
BOOOOO!!!
(just kidding)
Let's see, I got a few reds but the price I see always horrible on them so I'm now getting h m tanned and will market them privately.
Got a couple badgers bu the market on th m is so unpredictable, im now skinning th m feet on and planning to get them tanned as well.
No marten, Fisher, Lynx on the prairie, but yes the odd wolf! Hope I get one this year but I better build a few snares for the purpose or bye bye Wolfie.
I guess we have a few otters floating around now, a local guy got one doing damage beaver work a couple summers ago and the fish cops took it away... how infantile.
Maybe I'll start a beaver thread.
The End

Now at 16 marten, should correct that 15 1/2 as one of your prairie coyoties ate half of one marten. Some fisher, lynx and picked up a mink on last trap check. Mink was in marten set with beaver bait on high pine ridge? wish prices were better for them as very nice fur on this one. Picked up a rabbit on high leaning pole marten box, nice clean 120 catch, must like my beaver bait.
