I just picked one up and paired it with a Milwaukee Fuel hammer drill with two 5.0ah batteries and an 8 inch fin bore auger....havent used it yet but lots of guys swear by this setup. Does everything a gas auger or Ion auger will do with much less weight. Just make sure you are using a powerful drill with it.

I have a similar one and they work fine with my 6" auger and 24V drill. Early season I don't even bother bringing my gas auger as using the drill set up is way faster.

I can get 10-12 holes in 2ft thick ice before it runs out of juice.

I suggest you shop around and find an adapter that has a horizontal plate on it that's wider than the hole diameter. A drill chock isn't meant to hold the weight of an auger and the auger leg will slip out of the drill. Without the horizontal piece the auger will go straight down the hole.

My wilwaukee fuel m18 brushless drill can easily get 30-40 holes on 1 battery in 20 inches of ice. Those batteries work amazing in cold weather. (using 6 inch auger) the drill has a 5 year warranty and the batteries have a 3 year warranty.

This adapater youre looking at will bend if you have a powerful drill and your auger gets binded in the hole. Don't try to drill your way back out of the bind, just stop drilling and haul out then realign and then drill again.
I highly recommend getting a better adapter. I bent at least 3 or 4 of these ones till I got the proper hang of it. I went and got a russian made one and its much more durable.

You can also use your drill to drill your tent anchors in within seconds. That also saves a lot of time. get one of these

I bought this one here for my auger.....spend a few extra dollars and grab this puppy.

Picked one up and give it a go yesterday. Put a 18v maktia on it and managed to drill 5 holes and the ice was 27" thick with an 8in auger on it. Worked well. Is going to really shine on those days when walking out on the ice just after freeze up its so light, and yes we did manage to catch a few fish.
