Guess you miss the point where they don't speak English.... so pretty hard to talk to them.....

Call the city, call the fish cops....let them sort it all out.....

A logical reason (or even greater suspicion) which could be picked up almost immediately by having a five minute conversation with the neighbor.

But whatever, no response from OP or follow up. Troll post. I'm out

ROA ....or you could just be a man and talk to them....

reddeerguy2015 ...As I mentioned, how about striking up a damn conversation with the neighbor first??

If you see something other than pond koi they are risking our native fisheries by transporting live fish illegally around the province. Anyone fishing an old pothole lake infested with perch knows the immense damage caused.

Report them. Let F&W sort it out. Anyone looking in the back fence could of reported them.

Agreed - interested in how that plays out. At minimum you'd need a development permit for the tank as a permanent structure....

Sorry folks I ve been away with the family camping and just got back lastnight .

So fish and wildlife got back to me this afternoon and with limited resources available right now they won't be able to get out and check with what's going on till mid week . Through the conversation he mentioned that permits are not available for individual people and are more issued to places like Cabelas and or bass pro to have game fish in captivity . So the likey hood of them having a permit to have game fish is very unlikely. He also mentioned that regulation state that no fish can be retained alive from a body of water with in alberta , regardless of species. So this is an offence if they do have game fish in the tank .. He said he will get back to me as soon as they do the investigation.

The first gentlemen I talked from fish and wildlife , was doing a study right now on zebra muscles and how invasive they are to our water ways , and he appreciated that I made an inquiry about the matter because if they are not native fish to alberta they could potentially end up in our water systems . He mentioned altho it could be only one or 2 fish it could have serious effects on our ecosystem.

So once they have been out and I hear back from them I will update you all again on the out come of the cituation.

Looking at the pics of your neighbors yard reminds me of a show called "The Burbs". Think I'll watch it later.

Updates..

I have yet to hear back from fish n wildlife , however , I was away and when I got back from a back pack trip into the willmore the tanks have been emptied and no longer any fish in them.. I will give them a follow up call tomorrow. I'm curious to know what happened if they came by or did they pass it along to city by law.. I will update again once I talk with Matt tomorrow.
