Default Line for tr200g

Have a tr200g level wind shimano that i use for lakers. Came with thick braid but when trolling the spoons were floating to the top. Any recommendations on line or tricks to keep lure down using old line?
Not using Downriggers. Usually fishing early late May early June
Also are there any good clip on line counters? or not worth the headache?

Smaller heavier spoon. Large thin spoons are great behind down riggers etc but are not by themselves, as you have found out (for this purpose anyway)

Jet diver

dipsy diver

pink lady

3 way rig

tadpole diving weights

etc etc.

You could also use lead core line or copper line.
