I'm not sure if the OP misworded his question, but the Carseland weir is the weir down by Caresland just upstream from where the Bow crosses with Hwy 24.

x2 ........... you definitely can't see Carseland from anywhere within within the city limits ..... it it downstream ..... a 30-40 minute drive out of town.

Carsland is miles and miles and miles downstream from Calgary, and you can't fish downstream from it right now.
Right now you can fish anywhere on the Bow EXCEPT from the Bearspaw Dam to the weir near the zoo, and then from the carsland Weir to the highway 24 bridge.
Ok my boo boo ... I'll fix it.... Waterninja I think u misinterpreted the regs... You are looking to get a few hour on the bow while in town ... Caresland wier is way downstream of Calgary ... The wier u see from deerfoot is w.h.d. Wier , this down to carsland wier IS open to angling ..now... So yes u can fish right in the heart of the city ... Double check your regs and I apologise for referring to the caresland wier as the one in Calgary... hope that helps and doesn't compound your frustration
i was pretty confused at the start of this thread but i feel a lot better now. if you guys who live in the area can't figure it out then how the heck can a dumb edmontonian stand a chance? lol. i travel to calgary about once a month and all i wanted to do is wet a line in the bow for a couple hours before heading back.
think i'll just try the river by red deer or even the stocked pond in heritage park in red deer (which is very scenic by the way). next you guys will be telling me only one side of the bow is legal and it changes depending on which day of the week it is.lol
Bow is open down at my end if you ever make it that far, and we have better fish at this end
