Default recoil pad for winchester model 70 270cal.

Would appreciate help or advice on what to change my origional hard plastic recoil pad to.Is there any after market, cushioning pads I can install myself?
What do you recomend? Rifle is a Winchester model 70 ,270. Thanks for your input in advance.

Limbsaver.

There are some Pachmyr pads that are made for specific rifles too.

Wholesale sports has a lot of them.

Default recoil pads

Make sure to bring your old recoil pad with you as I found that the factory listings are not that reliable. My model 70 featherwieght classic ended up with a limbsaver recoil pad that is supposed to fit on a Mossberg( all 4 7/8" synthetic) # 10121. The recoil pads that they had listed for winchester model 70 were not even close. This pad will need a very light touch on the toe end with a dremel but I dont think anyone would notice if you just used it right from the box. I purchased it yesterday at Wholesale sports northside. About $45. I believe there were more.Hope this helps.
