Default Spring Bears

Hey everyone,

So, after my first year of hunting, and watching probably hundreds of hours of hunting shows, I struck up a conversation with my father, saying that I'd love to do a bear hunt, but can't afford to have anything done with the hide. (Cue innocent voice and pity eyes.) Well, it worked, and he quickly replied "well, if you can shoot a bear with a bow, I will pay for the rug to be made."

Money in the bank. Hope there is no expiry date on this coupon

So, here's the thread (my appologies for the story).

What is the best strategy for bear hunting? I only hunt with a bow, and would love it if someone could include me on a bear hunt. School is real easy this semester, and pretty well every day is open for preperation. I'd feel guilty if someone just let me hunt with them on their bait and I didn't have a hand in preparing it. So, If you don't mind a tag-along, shoot me a PM.

Its always great to meet someone on the forum. Some stand up people on this board.

I'm located in Red Deer, and Don't mind a drive.

-Jeff

I would be happy to take you if I decide to go after bears this spring, but I'd wanna make sure that my baits are getting hit first so it's worth your time.
