Default Goals for 2010

Bit early but what are your hunting goals for 2010?

Bull moose with the bow, worth a try not expecting a draw for rifle..
Bull elk with rifle. (dad got it 2 years in a row, my turn )

I will have a bull moose tag in my pocket for bow, but ill take a deer too. Anything with the bow will be my trophy of the year.

hopefully out-do dads 6x6 elk haha!

Going to try for the bison tag, if its on again. Knowing our luck someone in Donny's family will get it

Spring Blk Bear
Mountain Goat in B.C(maybe an Elk also)

Bighorn (Cadomin Draw I Hope) have two 3 week hunts planned plus day trips from home.

Archery Moose(General tag unless drawn in 420 or 422)
Archery Mule Deer
Whitetail Buck as usual.

Maybe find a general bull elk some where as im a couple years away from my zone 300 Bull Tag

Also hope to get my wife a ram this year! Plus this will be her first year archery hunting so hopefully get her on something with that.

My goal for 2010 is pretty simple. Just want to get out again and spend sometime afield with friends. An animal is just a bonus to me. But a 180+ whitetail would be nice.

There will be five of us hunting in our family this year,so of course, firstly the plan is that everyone gets a good whitetail buck.
My daughter and I would like to try spring blackbear with a bow. We also are thinking of going for Caribou this year.
I myself want to get a bigger whitetail buck (I know where he lives ) Hopefully with a bow.
I also will be going after mule deer with a bow, the two I have my sights on are nice, one is a typical, the other is known as Medusa for a reason, either one will do. (Ruth will get the other one anyways, she usually gets the bigger Mule deer.)
We will also going for elk and moose with a bow.
God willing I will get drawn for antelope.
Both girls shouldget drawn for camp Wainwright too. So hopefully they fill their tags.
Thats should fill the season in nicely..............

Get LeanMeanHuntinMachine through his Hunter Education Online course

Try to convince LeanMeanHuntinMachine not to remind me every day as to how many days left until hunting season....

Try to convince LeanMeanHuntinMachine not to hunt, "shoot", and pretend to skin our Yorkshire Terrier....

On garbage day, hide the pellet gun so that LeanMeanHuntinMachine isnt sniping magpies in the front yard....

Live long enough to accomplish the above goals.

PS: Bassett, if I croak before the years end, there are about 400 hunting magazines downstairs in a rubbermaid container that I want you to have......

My goal for this year is to NOT CHOKE AND PULL THE TRIGGER when I find my 2010 WT Buck. I still can't believe I didn't get that big one last year.

That plus my first deer with a bow, but this being my first bow hunting season Im not sure if I will connect or not.

Good luck with goals 2-4......

Numbers 1 and 5 I think you are safe with though.... Well at least living long enough until hunting season.

Wish I'd have shot more game this year. After LeanMean gets in the field, there won't be much left for old guys like me...

Just hope to get back up north for a Moose hunt this year and to be able to do it with my boys.. It isn't looking good for that,, they are getting to the age when life has other obligations for them. It is tough sometimes when you are young and first starting out,, life starts to get a bit complicated. But that is my goal just to get back up in moose camp with my boys. The size of the moose is really not important but a 50" would be a bonus I wouldn't be disappointed to take advantage of...

Im going on my first sheep hunt this year with my father in law. I am just excited to hunt the mountains and see some amazing country!!

Plus a decent WT would be nice this year, I always seem to hold out for the big one and end up shooting a freezer buck the last few days. THis is my year for a wall hanger, I can feel it in my bones.

Also lookin forward to helping a few friends with tags and maybe going on a good moose hunt with my Dad and another friend and his Dad.

Can never plan to far ahead! I have always found that if you don't make plans the stuff that you think and dream about just never seems to happen. Unless, like Rackmastr said earlier, "the 649" would sure help with those plans! Myself I hope to go on a cougar hunt (the feline kind!) and I have a self guided moose hunt planned this year with Andrew Lake Lodge and a couple of good friends of mine! I really like these kind of hunts because if the hunting is bad the fishing is probably pretty good! Good luck to everyone and I hope your plans and dreams come true!

We'll see what shakes out in the draws for the fall. (come on 438 sheep or mtn goat) I'm hoping my dad plans on hunting again this fall, so possibly a moose hunt. Always a highlight spending time in the field with my dad in the fall. I'll be hitting the hills again in search of a ram this fall, now that I got that ewe monkey off my back. I'd love to do another trek into the Willmore but I'm not sure if it is in the cards or not for this fall. As always there are hunts with friends depending on what they may have drawn.
