Cool question, Bassett.
As always, my first goal of any hunting season is to put some meat into the freezer. With that being said..........
1.) I'm hoping to have some fun with the new FoxPro FX3 this winter. Yotes mainly, but hopefully a west run for wolves a time or two.
2.) Couple of gopher outings in the spring with 'The Shrubs' for fun.
3.) I'd like to continue with my bowhunting improvement. Much steeper learning curve than originally anticipated, but it's beginning to come together slowly but surely.
4.) More time afield with 'The Shrubs', and hopefully a big game animal harvested with them present would be REALLY cool!
5.) To end on a selfish note...........that damn bull moose I've been chasing for three years now on our 212 permission. Tried to intercept him this year, but my legs are waaaayyyyyy shorter!
Good luck to everyone with having fun trying to achieve your goals!

Pending a successful draw on my trophy sheep application, I will be pulling tags for non-trophy sheep and trophy antelope, and have the following down on the books:
September - archery mulie in WMU 164 and non-trophy sheep;
October - BC Mtn Goat in early October followed by trophy antelope with rifle;
November - whitetail rut hunt as weather dictates, and ending with Camp Wainwright primitive weapons with my muzzleloader.

Time will be tight, but I've arranged my school electives to hopefully be in Calgary a couple weeks in October which I hope means a run to the hills for sheep, not expecting anything but a day trip would be nice. Then I've arranged some electives to be in the north during November, and with that will come chasing whitetails. No draws, i'll let those continue to build.

Taking at LEAST 4 weeks off to hunt this year not including spring bear -
1. Spring Bear; (would love to find a cinnamon)
2.Whitetail (Take care of my doe tags with a bow to get ready)
3.Mule - Never shot one, would love to bring home a nice trophy
4. Trophy Elk - Always been my dream
My biggest obstacle is taking enough time off work to get all the homework and make it happen! Not this year, this is my time to get r done!

A 180+ whitetail, my first bear (a nice blond or cinnamon would work nicely), up my coyote total from a year ago (currently at 17 but am working towards 30!), get drawn for mulie buck, and try to get a second wolf.
I would really like to see my wife get her first whitetail buck, she's been close but not yet.

ill be the first to admit that i have had more than my fair share of hunting success so my goals are clear this year. i just want success for those around me. my wife, bless her heart, bowhunted last year for the first time. she has had nightmares every night about the 170 mule deer she missed with her bow at 20 yards. i will work hard to get her another chance. the kids love fishing, so i have to find more time to get them out this year. especially my daughter...she is usually too cool and too busy with friends, but she loves driving the boat. my son has taken 3 nice deer by age 15, and my stepson has expressed interest in giving it a try. it would be great to see him take his first deer. my good friend since childhood has been in camp with me for so many big trophy deer, and i have tried so hard to get him a true cranker of his own....maybe this will be his year. my sheep hunting buddy helped me pack my ram out of the wilmore this last year, and i would love to return the favor this coming august. as for myself...i had to say goodbye to my dog last week. he lived to 15 years and i have been putting off getting a hunting dog until he was gone. i guess thats my goal this year is to find a new best 4 legged friend to chase pheasants with.

October - mule deer with the bow. 165 +.
November - Im going to shoot a wallhanger white tail during the rut with my bow.

I have a good chance at getting drawn for antelope this year. Bear hunt in Alberta and Saskatchewan, of course whitetails, sharing great times with my family and friends.My list could go on and on. My biggest goal is to continue having a blast out there, which is not hard to do!

Non-Trophy Sheep Archery p11 (pray for a ram) first 10 days of the season
Trophy Antelope Archery tag P10
Take a good friend for his first Trophy Antelope (Rifle Season)
The wife is picking up her rifle again for deer season that thrills me !!!
I hope she gets a big NT thats all she wants white tail mule will have to wait.
Get DaJimmer in on a big Whitetail and Mule Deer and if he builds a long bow than gets good with it will get him in on a Dec Cougar.

My goals for 2010 are simple,,,,
#1 get enough time off to do #2 and #3
#2 meet up with some mates from Oz for Black Bear in BC in the Spring, hunting with good mates is as good as it gets I reckon.
#3 if there is an open season for it in Alberta, I hope to hunt it.
Cheers Noel
