Default Gas and dash thief who killed station owner gets 7 years

How about this one... 30 convictions since 2009.

Senselessly kills a hard working man, and gets enhanced credit for time served... these Justices we have are absolutely clueless.

Yea just saw that on the news. Will be out and free to cause more trouble in 4.5 years. Our justice system is a disgrace.

The sentence is a joke, and the enhanced credit is a slap in the face to the law-abiding. The thieving, homicidal cretin should serve at least a decade of real time. And I’m even allowing that his act of driving away might not have had murderous intent, just the compulsion to flee. Anything that happens as a result of a crime though, should have serious consequences. If I felt homicidal intent was there I’d want even more time for him, even death if it was an option on the books. These pathetic sentences we see for this maniac and drunk drivers who managed to kill are appalling, never mind the sentences for the violent psychopaths such as Vince Li or Matt De Grood.

There was a similar gas and dash death in Calgary a few years back, and the victim was also an immigrant. While I hate the over-use of the racism thing, it might be useful to throw it at the judges, prosecutors and lawyers for devaluing those hard-working people’s lives. In the Calgary instance, the victim killed was female and there was recently a news report noting that her widower had died, leaving their child/children orphaned.

He should hang, as it is, he will reoffend, and may kill someone else.

Someone needs to take care of the problem because there is no justice in our justice system...

He should be on the end of a short rope. Justice system is a joke. Criminals just laugh.

We do not have a justice system! We have a liberal system!

These convictions should bring pain suffering and death to the convicted. Just as they brought to the survivors of the victim.

Unfortunately, it's not an isolated case, more like the norm. No end of victims families being insulted by sentences handed to killers of their family members.

About the only crime that gets routinely punished harshly in this country, is taking matters into ones own hands. So long as you arent defending yourself, protecting your family or property, or engaging in any other activity of that nature, Canada will forgive.

Strange that, in Canada, we do not have more vigilante justice. I'm not sure what i would do, as a parent, if someone murdered a family member then received such a light sentence. Hopefully, I never need to find out

Yeah, according to the Liberals legal gun owners are the problem in Canada.

Well, his lawyer sure played that one right. When it's obvious your client will be found guilty, deceive, delay and postpone as long as you possibly can so that he gets credited double time for the period he's been in custody awaiting trial.

Just wait and see what happens if you let your PAL or worse your RPAL lapse...
Prepare to feel the full weight of the justice system

I feel some rage for the judge that made this judgment and that sucks...

I hope he snaps in prison, lips off the entire block, and gets rolled nightly. Has issues, can happen, is obviously something wrong with this clown, maybe he will tick off the wrong people.

That sounds about right for what the going rate of human life is worth these days. Just going off recent convictions that is. In that nano second....seven years for dirt bag splatter is nothing. Use it wisely I guess
